Community Group Leader Application

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our Community Group leader application. We believe the impact of our gathering is directly related to our ability to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus through our groups. Due to the responsibilities of being a community group leader we have a thorough application process. The intent is to help people step into serve who are ready and able to lead incredible community groups. Our goal is NOT to overwhelm you but to help you think through the various aspect of leading a group. If you are looking for a group to join (not lead), click here.

Before continuing, we ask that all community group leader applicants read our doctrinal statement. If you have questions you can discuss them when you meet with a team leader. We do ask that all our community group leaders agree with our statement of faith.

All Community Groups at Centerpoint have a three pronged approach to building community within the group, growing together, and making a difference in their community. Our three areas of focus are social interaction, spiritual growth, and intentional service.
Social: We believe we are created for community and are better equipped to grow in our faith when we surround ourselves with people who love Jesus and us. Our community group leaders will need to have a high degree of social and relational competence to create inviting and engaging atmospheres for people to learn and grow.
Spiritual: Our greatest desire is for people to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe a community group can play a significant role in a person understanding and applying the Gospel. While we are open to several methods for learning our focus will always be Jesus and the scriptures. Community group leaders don't need to know everything about scripture but you will need to understand our churches biblical teaching and theological positions.
Service: We believe knowledge is essential to growth but service is the ultimate response to that knowledge. A person who is learning but not serving can soon become proud in their knowledge. That is why one of the main focuses for our community group leaders is to lead their group in acts of service both within our gathering and in the surrounding communities.
