Fourth Sunday for the City-August

During both the 9am & 11am services

Each month, we join together to support one of our partner organizations in the community. For the month of August, we’re partnering with Better Together, an organization aimed at empowering families to prevent child abuse and neglect. Their unique model enables parents who have fallen on hard times to voluntarily place their children with a loving host family for up to a year. The average stay is only 45 days, and 90% of families are reunited in 90 days or less. As unpaid volunteers, host families focus on caring for the children, while a network of Better Together volunteers and partners help the parents get back on their feet.

Their mission is to keep families together, and they’ve had great success: 98% of those served through their mentoring and hosting programs stay together and out of the foster care system.

We're asking everyone to bring in gift cards (Target, Walmart, or Amazon) as well as baby wipes. These items will go to assist host families as they care for their placements. We'll also ask everyone to give $4 to our For the City Fund—100% of the money raised in August will be given to support the mission of Better Together.
