Back-to-School Fair Volunteers Needed! 🎒
The Sylvia Thomas Center exists to keep the “forever” in "forever families" — supporting adoptive and foster children and families with the tools they need to bond and thrive. This Back-to-School Fair is a chance for Centerpoint to come alongside those families and make the start of a new school year feel like a celebration!
The center is hosting an open-house style event with food, outdoor activities, and a whole lot of dino-themed fun on July 23 from 4-7pm. They're looking for volunteers to help with setup, food service, outdoor activities, and tear down — and if you happen to be a face painter or balloon artist, they would LOVE to have you!
The event is broken into two shifts, with 10 volunteers needed for each shift: 3:30-5:30pm, and 5:30-7:30pm. Specialty skills (face painting, balloon art) especially welcome!
This event will be outdoors and may involve standing for periods of time. Occasional lifting of moderate weights (up to 20 pounds) may be needed. Volunteers should be 13 years of age or older. Younger children may serve alongside a parent, but will need to remain at the side of the parent for the duration of the event. (Please do not register accompanying children.)
